N-Power Recruitment: Scheme Shares Registration Tips For 2020 Applicants

N-Power Recruitment: Scheme Shares Registration Tips For 202

The Job Creation and Empowerment Initiative of the Social Investment Programme (SIP) of the Nigerian Government has shared some tips for interested N-Power applicants "to get ready", AllNews reports.

On its official Twitter handle on Monday morning, N-Power emphasized that interested applicants should 'not be an existing employee in any organization'.

As well, it stated that the Bank Verification Number (BVN) will be required to enrol into the programme.

Recall AllNews reported in April that the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, revealed that the Federal Government of Nigeria will soon engage the service of 400, 000 N-Power beneficiaries.

This was ratified on Friday in Abuja.

The N-Power scheme is a government programme aimed at supporting Nigeria's teeming unemployed youths.

The present administration started with the first batch in 2016, and they were supposed to be exited in 2018, but because of plans not being in place, their period was extended.

At the moment, 473, 137 Nigerian youths (Batch A and B) - paid a stipend of N30, 000 monthly - are currently enrolled in the N-Power graduate programme.

According to Farouq in March, the famed scheme is meant "to re-energise public service delivery in four key sectors: education, agriculture, health and tax".

The government had stressed that it desires to make the N-Power scheme the largest post-tertiary job scheme in Africa.

Speaking to newsmen after her meeting with federal lawmakers in Abuja in April 2020, Farouq disclosed the government's new plan.

"I have discussed with the leadership, and we have assured them that all the critical stakeholders that has to be carried along will be carried along," Farouq had said.

"Especially as they are representatives of the people that we are giving this intervention to.

"And we have come up with the enrolment of the new beneficiaries of the N-Power - 400, 000 beneficiaries are going to be enrolled very soon."
