A full five weeks after the N-Power registration 2020 closed, there is no new development from the Nigerian government, AllNews reports.
The N-Power Batch C recruitment closed at midnight of August 8th, 2020, yet, as at the time of publishing this report, the massive Nigerian youths who put in for the programme still do not know the next step, as the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria is not communicating anything tangible in respect of the fresh recruitment.
It would be recalled that Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs had about one week ago asserted that the present administration 'is in the process of selecting Batch C N-Power beneficiaries'.
In a similar vein, the Job Creation and Empowerment Initiative of the Social Investment Programme (SIP) of the Nigerian Government on Thursday dispelled the rumour that it has shortlisted names for the 'second stage' of its Batch C 2020 Recruitment, stating that "any new development will be communicated across our social media channels".
The over five million Nigerian youths who registered their interest in the famed scheme are anxious to know what's next, AllNews observed.
The N-Power was introduced in 2016 as part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), aimed at curbing the incessant increase of unemployment and poverty in the country.
Apart from the monthly stipends (N30, 000) for the graduate volunteers, some Batch A beneficiaries were given tablet computers to aid further learning. N-Power had five components, which are N-Teach, N-Tax, N-Health, N-Agro, and N-Build.
Out of the SIP components, the N-Teach subcomponent is the most popular, due to a large number of youth deployed to teach in public schools
