N-Power Transition: 'Transit Volunteers To Assuage Effects O

A Nigerian social commentator, Mustapha Kabir Soron Dinki has told Sadiya Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria to transit exited N-Power beneficiaries in order "to assuage effects of idle minds", AllNews reports.

Dinki, who was an N-Power beneficiary via his known Twitter handle stated on Thursday that "unemployment is a cancer to national security and development".

Recall that Batch A beneficiaries exited the programme on June 30 after four years in the famed scheme, while their Batch B counterparts officially made their exit on July 31st - after two years.

Meanwhile, these Nigerian youths are currently in the dark regarding their exit/transition package.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria is currently in the process of recruiting Batch C.

Muhammadu Buhari administration's N-Power scheme

The N-Power is a scheme set up by the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari since 8 June 2016, to address the issues of youth unemployment and help increase social development.

The scheme was created as a component of National Social Investment Programmes (NSIP), to provide a structure for large scale and relevant work skills acquisition and development and to ensure that each participant will learn and practice most of what is necessary to find or create work.

N-Power is a paid programme of a fixed duration, aimed at engaging beneficiaries in their states of residence.
