N193 Million Fake Drugs Intercepted By Customs In Edo

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded another success with the interception of N193 million fake drugs in Edo State.

The interception by the NCS's Federal Operation Unit (FOU) at Okada, Edo State was disclosed to newsmen on Thursday.

The NCS Public Relations Officer, Jerry Attah made the disclosure in a statement.

The statement reveals that the contraband packaged in 640 cartons were Intercepted in DAF truck and a J5 bus, adding that the unregistered pharmaceuticals amounts to N192m.

In another development between 1st January and 28th February, 2022, the NCS has also intercepted tramadol and other contrabands with paid duty value of N529m.

This was disclosed by the Comptroller Federal Operation Unit, Ali Ibrahim in Owerri while displaying the intercepted items.

The Comptroller added that administrative bail has been granted to six suspects arrested I connection to seizure.

Ibrahim further urged religious and traditional leaders to call people who attack security personnel to order for peace to reign.
