Hollywood comedian and actor Eddie Murphy is set to be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame.
The report comes from Variety, and the Dolemite Is My Name star will be given the honour at the event which will be broadcast live on March 27.
On hand to present the award to Eddie Murphy will be his long-time friend and Coming to America, Arsenio Hall. Both of them were most recently seen in the sequel, Coming 2 America.

The NAACP Image Awards is meant to recognize the efforts of those who are regarded as pioneers in their respective fields and whose influence "will shape the professions for generations for years to come."

Derrick Johnson, president and CEO of the NAACP, said of Murphy's induction, "We are honoured to celebrate one of the most influential comedic geniuses in the entertainment industry and an individual who has inspired a generation of Black talent."
"To this day, Eddie Murphy's work continues to bring joy and laughter to individuals around the world, and he is an amazing example of Black excellence, creativity and artistry."
Eddie Murphy's latest film Coming 2 America has been thrashed by critics and fans, with most of them saying that it shouldn't have been made.
In 2015, his films made him the sixth-highest grossing actor in the United States. He was awarded the Mark Twain for American Humor in 2015 and won his first Primetime Emmy Award in 2020 for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for hosting Saturday Night Live.
