NAACP Image Awards: 'Eyimofe' Becomes First Nollywood Film T

Eyimofe has gone down in the history books as the first Nollywood film to be nominated at the NAACP Image Awards.

Scheduled to take place on February 26, 2022, the two-hour live event will celebrate and honour performances in film, TV, theatre, music, and literature.

Eyimofe (This Is My Desire) is directed by Arie and Chuko Esiri and follows the tale of Mofe and Rosa on their quest for a better life outside the shores of Nigeria.

The film received the historic nomination for Outstanding International Motion Picture, alongside 7 Prisoners (Brazil), African America (South Africa), Flee (Denmark), and The Gravedigger's Wife (Somalia).

Also bringing glory and much-needed recognition to Nigeria are music stars WizkidTiwa SavageFireboy DML, and Omah Lay who have gotten nominated in the Outstanding International Song category.
