NAFDAC Warns Against Harmful Gummies In Nigerian Markets

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration, NAFDAC. has warned Nigerians against the purchase of some varieties of of Skittles gummies, starburst gummies and life savers gummies due to presence of harmful substances.

The products were recalled by the production company, Mars Wrigley Confectionery US, LLC.

According to NAFDAC's Director General, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye in Abuja on Friday, the products were recalled due to potential presence of metal strands.

She advised distributors against continuous sale of the products, and handover stock to the nearest NAFDAC office.

"Consumers are encouraged to report consumer complaints, any allergic reactions related to use of any regulated product to the nearest NAFDAC office." She added.

Professor Adeyeye said reports can be made via NAFDAC PRASCORE on 20543 toll free call on all networks or through its official website.
