Namibia: 13 Die From Poisonous Porridge Consumption

13 Dies From Poisonous Porridge Consumption In Namibia.

Thirteen individuals tragically lost their lives within three days, while four others are currently in critical condition after consuming suspected poisonous porridge in Namibia.

According to local media, all of those afflicted were members of a household of 22 people in the Kayova community, located in Kavango's northeastern district.

The bulk of those killed were children who were malnourished.

According to the health ministry, as reported by the state broadcaster NBC, the family consumed porridge made with pearl millet flour and fermented sediment from a homemade beverage.

Following the tragic tragedy, the ministry quickly dispatched a team of specialists to provide psychological assistance and counselling to the bereaved family.

Furthermore, samples of the porridge were sent to South Africa for testing to detect the existence of food poisoning.

The tragedy is being carefully investigated by authorities, and the impacted family is receiving thorough aid to cope with this heartbreaking occurrence.
