Nasarawa Assembly Member Dragged To Court Over Certificate

Nasarawa State House of Assembly

Member representing Keana Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA), Adamu Omadefu has been dragged before a Federal High Court sitting in Lafia over alleged forgery of secondary school certificate.

Omadefu who is serving his second term was sued alongside the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as 2nd and 3rd defendants in the suit respectfully.

The candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for Keana Constituency in the recently concluded 2023 general elections, Osheka Ogwole instituted the suit on Wednesday June 07.

Ogwole, a seasoned Quantity Surveyor and Valuer alleged that the Senior School Certificate of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) submitted by Omadefu for election was forged.

The PDP Chieftain stated that Omadefu has no minimum requirement to gain admission into tertiary institution in the country and that he relied on a fake certificate to hold public office.

In the writ of summons, the Court commanded the defendants to file their defence within 30-days upon service.

Omadefu, a graduate of Political Science from the Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto (UDUS) had submitted the certificate dated 1992 which only bears 'Jos' with no specific name of centre (school).
