Nasarawa: Deputy Governor's Driver Abducted By Gunmen

Gunmen have abducted Nasarawa State Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe's driver, Daniel Ogoshi.

Ogoshi was abducted from a friend's residence around 9:30 pm, at Ombi 2, college of Agric, Kwandere road Lafia, on Tuesday.

His phone and car were left behind at the scene of the abduction.

A family friend of the victim who confirmed the incident said it was unfortunate, noting that he received a call around 9 pm that his brother had been taken away by the kidnappers.

The family friend immediately alerted the police, and they rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, the kidnappers had already fled with the victim.

The media officer to the deputy governor, Chris Ehima, confirmed the incident, saying that he was informed about the situation but did not have adequate information on what had transpired.

He expressed shock over the incident and assured that the state government would do everything possible to secure the release of the kidnapped driver.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, also confirmed the incident and said that the police were on top of the matter. He could not provide further details.
