Nasarawa government distributes hoe, rakes to indigents in state, to improve livelihood
The Nasarawa State Government under the aegis of the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus, NG-CARES Programme, has stated that it has begun distribution of working tools to indigent residents.
The distribution which is supported by the World Bank on Monday started handling working tools to over 1,400 poor and vulnerable households in Nasarawa State.
Governor Abdullahi Sule stated that the state government has established an Inclusive Economic Recovery Programme to eradicate poverty and hunger in the state at the program’s inauguration in Lafia, the capital.
He announced that the state government had established a sustainable template to address challenges and losses in labour income among the poor and vulnerable households as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Governor was represented by the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Yakubu Lawal.
