The Nasarawa State Governor's Special Adviser on Mining, Emmanuel Yaro has been suspended from the All Progressives Congress (APC) over alleged involvement in anti-party activities.
The leadership of the governing party in his ward, Alushi/Gidan, Nasarawa Eggon LGA of the State announced this in a statement after an emergency meeting.
Yaro, a former Overseer of Akun Development Area was accused of actively campaigning for and supporting candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to the detriment of the party's interest and fortunes in the forthcoming general elections.
The Acting Chairman of the party, Garba Ali Jatau said the suspension was with immediate effect.
The party in the ward had also suspended its Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary and Assistant Financial Secretary among others over allegations of anti-party and insubordination.
Efforts to contact the Adviser for comment proved abortive at the time of filling this report. However, Governor Abdullahi Sule had directed the leadership of the party to sanction any member involved in anti-party activities.
