Nasarawa Oil Discovery Significant Accomplishment For Sule – Speaker

Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has said the state's oil finding is a significant accomplishment under Gov. Abdullahi Sule's leadership.

According to Abdullahi, the accomplishment will endure throughout the state's history.
When answering inquiries from newsmen on President Bola Tinubu's inauguration and Sule's second term, the speaker made this statement on Monday in Lafia.

Regarding the state's efforts to promote growth, security, and peace, he gave the governor good marks.

He wished Sule and Tinubu a prosperous term in office and congratulated them on their inaugurations.

The speaker praised Sule's accomplishments in the areas of infrastructure, education, agriculture, security, and health, among other things, and added that the state's oil discovery was the product of the governor's persistent work.

“His Excellency’s experience in the oil and gas sector as well his intensive lobby with the Federal Government led to the discovery of oil in Obi LGA of the state.

“The State will benefit from the 13 per cent derivation once the oil exploration fully take off.

“And this will bring more development to communities across the state,” he said.

The speaker also mentioned that Sule's outstanding accomplishments in practically all areas of the economy were a major factor in the state's citizens electing him to a second term.

“His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule has done well in his first term as governor, that was why the people of the state massively elected him for second term in office.

“Gov. Sule has brought peace, enhance unity and development across communities of the state.

“His good policies and programmes have direct bearing on the lives of our people and improved our citizens welfare and we will continue to appreciate him for that,” he said.

The speaker during Tinubu's inauguration remarked that the president has the ability and expertise to reform Nigeria and advance the nation's growth.

“His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari has done his best in the last eight years, we have the hope that His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will continue from where the outgone president has stopped and he will address the developmental and other challenges facing the nation.

“Tinubu has done well when he was the governor of Lagos State through his transformation policies and programmes.

“It is our hope that he will transform Nigeria, ensure peace, unity and speedy development across the states of the federation, including FCT Abuja,” he said.

However, in order to continue enjoying the benefits of democracy, the speaker urged the residents of the state and all of Nigeria to pray for and support Sule and Tinubu's victories.

The support of the people is essential for any leader or administration to succeed, he continued.

The speaker urged Nigerians to uphold the law, show respect for duly elected officials, live in peace and harmony, and tolerate one another regardless of their political affiliations.
