The Nasarawa State Police Command on Friday confirmed the rescue of four remaining kidnapped pupils of a school in Alwaza, Doma Local Government Area of the state.

The confirmation was made by the spokesperson of the command, DSP Ramhan Nansel while addressing newsmen in Lafia.

The four pupils were abducted alongside two others from the same school on January 20, 2023.

However, out of the six, two of them were rescued by the police alongside other security agencies and hunters.

As reported the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Nansel explained: "About 7:00 a.m. on Friday, a detachment of joint security operatives in collaboration with hunters rescued the four pupils unhurt at Doka village, Doma LGA."

He added that the victims have been taken to hospital for medical examination and would be reunited with their parents thereafter.

He further stated that the state's Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Muhammad-Baba, appreciated the members of the public for their support throughout the search period.

He added that though no arrest was recorded, he appealed to the public to support the police with credible information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.
