Nasarawa: Sule Appoints Ex-NSHA Speaker As New Accountant-Ge

Governor Abdullahi Sule has appointed the former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Musa Mohammed, as the new Accountant-General of the State

Mohammed who had served as Speaker of the State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2015 was appointed to replace Zakka Ledkwi Yakubu who has been in office since 2016. 

The new Accountant-General had in February 2020 joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) where he was elected twice as Member representing Nasarawa Central Constituency. 

Some close associates of the former Speaker announced the appointment, taking to social media to congratulate him and hail Governor Sule over what they described as a “round peg in a round hole”. 

When contacted, a media aide of the Governor, Mallam Ali Abare, who also confirmed the development however said the appointment was still “in the pipelines”.

Mohammed, a seasoned Chartered Accountant holds the traditional title of Baraden Nasarawa Emirate.
