Nasarawa: We will not tolerate illegal mining in Wakama —

The District Head of Wakama community in Nasarawa Eggon LGA of Nasarawa State, Adams Makka Nangba, has warned illegal miners to stay away.

Nangba gave the warning during an expanded stakeholders meeting on Friday as he advised all miners to follow due process in their interest and for the overall development of the society.

“We will not tolerate illegal mining in the interest of peace and the security of our land and the state at large,” he said. 

He also stated that the meeting aimed to discuss ways to promote unity and peace in the area.

The District Head said the importance of peace to human and societal development could not be overemphasized.

“Peace is priceless and non-negotiable and it is the necessary requirement for the development of any society,” he said.

The district head also urged stakeholders to continue to contribute positively to the development of the area and the state at large.

He enjoined the people of the area to embrace tolerance and show love to each other for the overall development of the area and the state at large.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Miners Association, Nassarawa Eggon Local Government, Musa Adamu urged all those involved in mining activities to follow due process in their interest and for the overall development of the state.
