NASRDA Invites Partnership In Hackathons, Space-Based Technology

NASRDA Invites Partnership In Hackathons, Space-Based Techno

Nigerians are invited to take part in the National Space Research and Development Agency's (NASRDA) hackathon for space-based technical ideas.

In a statement released on Thursday in Abuja, Dr Felix Ale, the agency's Chief of Media and Corporate Communications, made the request.

“NASRDA is seeking innovative ideas from Nigerians who can provide space-based technological solutions to problems and challenges facing Nigerians.

“The thematic areas include: Robotics, artificial Intelligence, cyber-security, disruptive space applications and nanotechnology,” he said.

Ale stated that the online application had begun on February 23 and will be accessible through March 15 of 2023.

He claims that the top place will receive N1 million, followed by the second place with N750,000 and the third place with N500,000.

He added that those who succeeded would receive mentoring and opportunity for incubation.

Ale cautioned, however, that qualified participants needed to be Nigerian citizens with legitimate forms of identification.

“Participants must have a product or innovative solution that solves specific problems relating to any of the thematic areas listed above.

“The participant/s must not be a company representative with a product already in the market.

“Must be ready to physically participate in the hackathon programme in Abuja throughout the period,” Ale said.

The programme was anticipated to begin on May 8 and run until May 13, 2023, he noted.

Ale advised interested participants to contact +234 809 961 0087 or visit [email protected] for further information.
