The Osun State Governor-Elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has felicitated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, on his conferment with the national honour of Commander of the Federal Republic(CFR) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a personally signed statement issued on Tuesday, Senator Adeleke who praised the royal father’s contribution to Yoruba and national unity said the honour bestowed on the Ooni is for all Yorubas at home and abroad.
Adeleke also affirmed that the recognition calls for celebration.
“Our dear royal father, your conferment of national honour by President Muhammadu Buhari is a well-deserved acknowledgement of your immeasurable contribution to national unity and development.
"You have championed many nation-building initiatives. You are a golden light of enlightenment from Yorubaland to Africa and Yorubas in the diaspora.
“As you continue to provide much-needed support for the full accomplishment of our potential as a people and nation, I am convinced that this award is just the beginning of a future celebration of your majesty as a cultural icon who is doing a lot to erase ignorance, poverty and under-development," Senator Adeleke stated.
