The Zamfara State Government has settled the N25 million naira it owed the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) from 2017.
This was contained in a statement by the State's Commissioner for Information, Hon. Ibrahim Magaji Dosara.
According to him, the Zamfara state governor, Bello Matawalle had approved for the immediate settlement of the debt last week.
The commissioner added that the money had already been paid to the commission on Friday.
“The money which has already been paid into the commission’s account on Friday last week is part of the government’s promises to keep cordial working relations with the commission and other media outfits to ensure people are fully informed of government programmes and policies for the development of the state."
While congratulating the people of Zamfara for having responsible governor, Dosara added that the state government had paid N5 millon last year out of the N37 million it owed the NBC.
He further called on the people to continue praying for the state government to achieve more.
