The Nigeria College of Accountancy (NCA), also known as the ANAN University, has conferred an accountancy fellowship award on the governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
The presentation of the award took place on Saturday during the 10th convocation ceremony of the college.
The ceremony took place at the institution's Campus in Jos, the Plateau State's capital.
This was contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, spokesperson to the governor.
Misilli said the college authority said the award was in recognition of the governor's "sterling leadership qualities, track record of good governance, prudent financial management and uncompromising posture for excellence in execution of projects".
The Governor was represented at the occasion by the Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development, Muhammad Gambo Magaji, the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi and the Permanent Secretary of the state's Ministry of Environment, Alhaji Abubakar Hassan.
