The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) has expressed concerns over the spread of Cholera in the country.
The centre said there has been a 44 percent increase in the prevalence of the disease.
According to a report released by the centre on Monday, the disease has killed 30 people in Bauchi, Katsina, Niger, and Jigawa states including the FCT- Abuja.
The centre said the deaths recorded are for one week alone.
The report also stated that the disease is most prevalent in Bauchi State where 11 people have died in one week, 10 in Katsina 10, 6 in Niger and one person in Abuja.
A total of 1,162 people were infected in seven states over the week.
The seven states include Bauchi, Katsina, Niger, Jigawa, Kano, Borno, Adamawa and the FCT - Abuja.
The report also stated that children between the ages of five and fourteen are at risk of infection.
According to statistics further stated by the report, 816 people died of cholera in 22 states and Abuja between January and August 2021.
