The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on Sunday, confirmed the arrest of 5 persons including a 62-year-old woman with 182,000 tablets of Tramadol.
Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA’s Director, Media and Advocacy, said in a statement today that the suspects were arrested during a raid. A 27-year-old pregnant woman was also arrested at her home in the Ojo area of Lagos State.
Babafemi declared that “Operatives raided different hideouts on December 16. The suspects were arrested with 182,000 tablets of Tramadol."
”The operatives led another operation as other suspects were arrested with quantities of heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, Indian hemp and others."
He added that more than 4,000 kilograms of drugs were seized in raids set up in 8 other states including; Kogi, Rivers, Benue, Adamawa, Ekiti, Anambra, Edo and Ondo State.
Also, a commercial Toyota bus, filled with tramadol was intercepted by security operatives on the Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway.
