The North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has launched 500 housing units among others in Adamawa state.

The commission's Managing Director, Mohammad Alkali made this known in an interview.

The Alkali said the projects launched include a burn centre and covid19 laboratory at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Yola.

He further expressed that the facilities would enjoy the provision of a 500kva generator, borehole, and 10,000 litres of diesel to commence operation.

While noting the problem of food insecurity in the state, he stated that the commission had donated food and non-food items to the state.

He added that the commission had also built a fully equipped molecular laboratory at the Adamawa State Specialist Hospital.

Expressing the need for the intervention, Alkali stated that it was necessary to reduce people's hardships exerted by 12years of insurgency.

While commenting on the construction of 500 houses, he said the state capital will benefit from 300, and the remaining 200 would be built across other cities in the state.
