The news was announced on Thursday by the streaming platform, and it was confirmed by the award-winning actress via her Twitter account, Deadline reported.
Sulwe is written by Lupita Nyong'o and the plot revolves around the titular character, a little girl with skin darker than that of anyone she knows.
According to the book, Sulwe was born "the colour of midnight". All she has ever longed for is to be beautiful and bright. Her life is changed forever one night when she is visited by a shooting star sent by the Night. Sulwe goes on a magical journey and learns about the tale of the sisters Day and Night.

The book tackles the issues of colourism, self-esteem, and the realization that true beauty comes from within. It was illustrated by Vashti Harrison and published in October 2019.

Lupita Nyong'o is a Kenyan-born Mexican actress. She was born in Mexico City, raised in Kenya and attended college in the United States. She has a degree in Film and Theatre Studies.
She made her Hollywood debut in 2008 on the short film East River. Her role in the biographical drama 12 Years a Slave (2013) earned her critical acclaim, winning her several accolades, including the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Nyong'o's other movie roles include Non-Stop (2014), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Queen of Katwe (2016), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), Black Panther (2018), Us (2019), and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
