New Year: President Buhari To Address The Nation By 7am

The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Garba Shehu has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari will address the nation on the occasion of the new year celebration on the 1st of January 2021, by 7am.

Making this announcement on his Twitter page, Shehu urged radio and television stations to join in the President's new year broadcast.

"President Muhammadu Buhari will make a New Year broadcast to the nation Friday, January 1, 2021 at 7am.

"Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to join the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) respectively, for the broadcast," Garba Shehu tweeted.

Recall that  President Muhammadu Buhari had on December 31st 2020 signed the 2021 Appropriation Bill of N13.588 trillion into law today, December 31, 2020.

The president’s action followed the earlier passing of the bill by the National Assembly on December 21 during an emergency session convened for the purpose of passing the budget.

The signing of the budget is also in line with the president’s promise to return the nation to the January to December Budget circle. The brief signing ceremony was done inside the President’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
