Brazilian international Neymar has reportedly opposed the idea of leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer despite being ruled out of the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign with a damaged right ankle.
French media outfit L'Équipe reports that the 31-year-old is only interested in staying at PSG until his contract ends in 2027.
It won't be the first time that PSG have had to explore options of selling the former Barcelona forward.
The French giants reportedly made moves to sell Neymar after his return from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as a result of his inconsistency on the pitch.
However, the PSG attacker made it clear on Monday that his desire is to "come back stronger" to the team.
He is to undergo surgery on his right ankle in the coming days at a hospital in Doha.
The injury was sustained in PSG's Ligue 1 clash against Lille last month as he was stretched off the field.
It is reported that he will be out for three to four months before he can be allowed to join PSG in training.
A statement from PSG reads: "Neymar Jr. has presented several episodes of instability of the right ankle in recent years.
"Following his last sprain on February 20, the Paris Saint-Germain medical staff recommended a ligament repair operation to avoid a major risk of recurrence.
"All the experts consulted have confirmed this necessity.”
