Former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo has been appointed as Assistant coach by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
Yobo will act as an understudy to Gernot Rohr and will fill the space created by former assistant coach, Imama Amapakabo who replaced Salisu Yusuf following FIFA's ban of the latter.
Yobo won his first senior cap against Zambis in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match, going on to play in three FIFA World Cup finals in 2002, 2010, and 2014.
He also played in six African Cup of Nations finals - 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2013 leading Nigeria to a first place finish in the 2013 edition.
He was capped 100 times for the Super Eagles and will now begin his foray into football mangement under the tutelage of experienced German gaffer, Gernot Rohr.
