NFF Denies Reports Of Peseiro's Contract Being Extended

Reports of the contract of Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro being extended has been denied by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The General Secretary of the NFF, Dr Mohammed Sanusi set the record straight in an exclusive interview with BSNSports on Sunday.

He said the renewal of Peseiro's contract can only happen when his current contract is about to expire.

"As far as I know, Jose Peseiro contract has not expired and not been extended," Sansui told BSNSports.

"Is it not when a contract expires that we will talk about renewal?", he asked rhetorically.

When pressed by the journalist when the contract of the Eagles boss will expire, he said he doesn't have the details of the contract between the NFF and Peseiro.

"I don't know when the contract will expire and I can't tell you off hand how many years contract he signed with NFF because I am not with the the details here."

The Portuguese coach was hired in May 2022 to succeed Augustine Eguavoen as Super Eagles manager.

He has managed eight games, winning three and losing five.
