NFPL: We Want To Win League, Says Kano Pillars Boss After La

Acting Technical Adviser of Kano Pillars, Ibrahim Musa, has said that his club’s sole aim is to win the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this year.

Four-time NPFL champions, Kano Pillars ended their first stanza level on points at the top of the NPFL table despite playing their home matches at the Ahmadu Bello stadium, Kaduna.

In Kaduna on Sunday, Pillars won narrowly against Warri Wolves. And their boss is unequivocal about his side’s target this term.

“I won the Federation Cup in 2019 and we ended the league on the third and second positions in 2018 and 2019 season respectively and the focus now is to win the league with the Sai Masu Gida this season,” confident Coach Musa stated.

The experienced tactician believes that the position of the club on the NPFL log is commendable and assured that the technical crew and the players will use the two-week break to correct the loopholes in the team ahead of the start of the second stanza of the current NPFL season.

“I have to commend the Kano state government, management of the club, players, fans and the supporting staff for their commitment and support in projecting the image of the club as the successes recorded is a collective efforts of all,” Coach Ibrahim said.

According to Coach Ibrahim, there are some departments in the team that needs reinforcement, hence, he assured that new players would come in before the kickoff of the second stanza.

He reaffirmed his commitment and that of his fellow technical team to lead the club to the NPFL title come the end of the season.

Pillars brightened their chance of reclaiming the league title after they ended the first stanza level on points (36) at the top of the log with Kwara United of Ilorin.

Captain, Rabiu Ali, aka Pele scored the only goal of the evening from the spot in the second half of the game when Wolves defender, Innocent Erukpe roughly tackled David Ebuka in the 18-yard box.

Ali stepped in and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way for his 7th goal of the season.

The Aiteo Cup holders have played a total of 19 matches. They won 11 out of those fixtures, draw three and lost five matches to finish level on points with Kwara United at the top.
