NGO Gives Away Books To Schools In Taraba

A Non-Government Organisation, Maigodiya Centre for Youth Development (MCYD) has given textbooks and instructional materials to Al Imam Nursery, Primary and Secondary schools in Jalingo in Taraba State.

The  Executive Director of the NGO, Malam Aliyu Tukur on Friday said the action was to boost effective teaching, learning, and extensively enhance a bright future for the students.

Tukur, represented by the organisation's Programme Manager, Malam Aminu Usman, encouraged the administration to use the textbook judiciously for the good of the society.

He further reiterated the need for a good educational background to raise professionals in Nigeria, noting that the organisation which had been contributing to the health sector has seen the need to do the same in the education sector for the development of the country.

“We are here to donate textbooks and instructional materials to the schools to enhance effective teaching and learning for a better society.

“It is MCYD’s belief that a sound background for children at the basic education level will change the fortune of the education sector for a better country,” Tukur said.

The coordinator of the school, Ustaz Haroun Abdulrazaq, expressed joy over the donation, pledging the good use of the books to improve teaching and learning.
