NGX All-Share Index gains 0.33 per cent, closes near 72,000

The NGX All-Share Index increased by 0.33% in a persistently positive trend, closing at 71,907.26 points and nearing the untested 72,000 point mark.

By increasing its total value by N130 billion, the market capitalisation reached N39.349 trillion as a result of the gains made in equities.

Significant drivers of the market's expansion were stocks such as GTCO, which added to the positive momentum with a turnover of N849 million, and ACCESSCORP, which posted a 0.99% gain with a turnover of N380 million.

The volume of trading increased to N5.88 billion from N3.85 billion yesterday, even though the trading volume decreased from 375.32 million units to 319.56 million units yesterday.

Top gainers in today's session were ROYALEX (+8.47%), SCOA (+9.46%), INFINITY (+9.79%), and NEIMETH (+7.89%), demonstrating strong performance and a variety of market opportunities.

The dynamic nature of stock trading was highlighted by the top losers, which included GUINEAINS (-10.00%), CONOIL (-9.83%), JULI (-9.72%), DEAPCAP (-8.96%), and Omatek (-8.75%).

JBERGER (-1.15%) topped the trading volume chart with 42.54 million units, followed by ZENITHBANK (-0.14%) with 22.99 million, FCMB (+0.74%) with 22.86 million, GTCO (+0.64%) with 21.59 million, and ACCESSCORP (+0.99%) with 18.80 million items.

JBERGER (-1.15%) had the highest value at N1.46 billion, followed by GTCO (+0.64%) at N849.27 million, ZENITHBANK (-0.14%) at N811.98 million, SEPLAT (0.00%) at N454.27 million, and ACCESSCORP (+0.99%) at N380.13 million.

Within the SWOOT category, there was a change in price for ZENITHBANK (-0.14%) but not for GTCO (+0.64%) or MTNN (+2.08%).

Amid differing sentiments in the banking industry, tier-1 banks FBNH (-1.07%) maintained its negative trajectory, closing at N23.15, while GTCO (+0.64%), ACCESSCORP (+0.99%), and UBA (+2.65%) realised price gains.
