Nicki Minaj's Husband Facing Ten-Year Jail Term Over Failure To Register As Sex Offender

Nicki Minaj's Husband Facing Ten-Year Jail Term Over Failure

Kenneth 'Zoo' Petty, Nicki Minaj's husband, has agreed to a plea agreement after failing to register as a sex offender in California and could spend 10 years in jail for it.

People reports that 43-year-old Petty entered a guilty plea on September 9 during a virtual session with the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

His sentencing hearing is set for January 24, 2022, and he might be sentenced to up to ten years in jail, followed by supervised release for the remainder of his life.

In 1995, he was found guilty of first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl and sentenced to 18 to 54 months in jail. He is now classified as a level two registered offender in New York, meaning he poses a 'moderate risk' of reoffending.

Jennifer Hough, his alleged rape victim, sued both Petty and Minaj, 38, last month, alleging that the couple intimidated him into recanting her rape accusation.

Hough claims Minaj and Petty tried to deny her rape allegation after they began dating in 2015.

Minaj allegedly offered to have a publicist draft a statement in which she recanted her rape accusation during a phone discussion with Hough.

Following the conversation, Hough claims that persons close to Minaj and Petty offered a family member $500,000 in exchange for her recanting her rape complaint.

The lawsuit also claims that Minaj sent Hough's childhood friend, Black, to offer her legal counsel and give her $20,000 in exchange for retracting her account.
