The Chairman of Katcha local government area of Niger State, Danlamin Abdullahi Saku was severely beaten on Sunday over a N1.3 million debt.

Danlamin reportedly borrowed the money from an elderly friend in the area for over one year and refused to clear his debt despite several demands made to him.

According to Vanguard, trouble started in Katcha on Sunday when the chairman was said to have slapped one of the boys sent to him by the owner of the money.

The angered boys went back to mobilize, came back and descended on the chairman in retaliation by beating him to a state of unconsciousness.
