Nigerian human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore says himself and other compatriots of Don Jazzy will be embarking on a protest on October 1st, against the music producer's alleged harassment by the Department of State Service (DSS)
In a tweet on Tuesday, September 29, Sowore said the protest would be held instead of attending the "shameful" jamboree organised to mark Nigeria's Independence day celebration.
Sowore, the convener of #TheRevolutionNow movement also said he was sorry about the harassment by the DSS, describing their action as "unlawful"
The activist tweeted "@DONJAZZY Good morning! We your compatriots are taking mass global action on #October1st2020, we opted for mass protests instead of attending the shameful national jamboree known as #Nigeria60 celebration. So sorry about d DSS harassment what they did was unlawful."

It is however unclear if Don Jazzy was harrassed by the DSS, but AllNews recalls that rumours made rounds earlier this month that the producer and Tiwa Savage were quizzed over alleged comment against the Buhari-led administration.
The reports claimed that he was invited to the DSS office in Lagos, alongside Tiwa where they were cautioned about their social media posts.
The Lagos State Police Command and DSS, however, denied the claims.
DSS spokesman, Peter Afunnaya, who spoke with The Punch, refuted it, saying, “We didn’t invite any musician.”
Punch also reached out to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana over the alleged invitation.
When asked to confirm if the celebrities were invited by the Lagos State Police Command, Elkana said, “I’m not aware of any invitation.”
Meanwhile, Don Jazzy while seemingly reacting to the reports in a video questioned what “quizzing” means.
