Nigeria And Arsenal Legend, Kanu Hails Enyeama As 'One Of Th

Arsenal legend, Nwankwo Kanu, has praised Iris Club de Croix of France goalkeeping coach, Vincent Enyeama as 'one of the best in the world'.

AllNews reports that 'Papilo' paid homage to his former Nigeria teammate in a post on his verified Instagram handle on Thursday night.

Both men at different times skippered the senior national team, and had decent careers.

Kanu, 44, won the UEFA Champions League (UCL) with Ajax in 1995, and two English Premier League (EPL) titles with Arsenal during a five-year stint in London.

The Imo-born forward also prides of the individual honours of the African Footballer of the Year 1996 and 1999.

Although Kanu missed out on winning the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) title in 2000, he is still regarded as one of the best players in African football history.

Enyeama, winner of the 2013 AFCON, starred for Lille from 2011 to 2018., and with 101 caps, is Nigeria's most capped player of all-time.

His present employers, Iris Club de Croix, is a National 3 team playing in the fifth division. Enyeama, 37, is in charge of their reserve team and the U16s.

The Enyimba legend had during an Instagram Live interview with EaglesTracker earlier this year revealed he always respected Kanu and is a fan of Kanu's former team - the Gunners.

"Till he left the Super Eagles, I couldn't call him [Kanu] by name," Enyeama had said.

"I just used to say senior man. The respect I had for him was too much."
