 Nigeria, Burkina Faso draw goalless in opening WAFU B tourn

 Nigeria's U-17 national side, the Golden Eaglets played out a barren draw with Burkina Faso in their opening matchday of the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship, played at the University of Ghana Stadium on Thursday evening.

Coach Manu Garba went for a 4-3-3 formation, with Dominic Chinedu in goal with the quartet of Sylvester Chika, Daniel Mende, Waris Yunus and Boluwatife Ekishola as the four defenders.

The skipper of the side, Simon Cletus, Destiny Samuel and Abdulmuiz Oladimeji occupied the midfield while Rapha Adam led the attack with the duo of Imrana Muhammad and Ibrahim Abdulganiyu as wide forwards.

Chances were at premium for both sides in the game with Nigeria's sight at goal arriving in the 24th minute when Cletus found Oladimeji who wasted the glit-edge chance.

In the 58th minute, Nigeria worked their way into a dangerous area but Muhammad couldn't get his shot on target.

Nigeria will face Niger in their second match in the tounament on Sunday.
