Nigeria Is Facing The Worst Security Challenge - Yahaya

At the swearing-in of chairman across the 11 local government areas in the state, the Governor of Gombe, Inuwa Yahaya, said that the country was facing "the worst security challenge in its history".

He urged the chairmen to ensure that the lives and property of the residents be protected.

He also appealed to the chairmen to protective measures are employed to ensure the "security and wellbeing" of the lives of the state residents.

Yahaya said, “As you are all aware, Nigeria is facing the worst security challenge in its history.  We must therefore put in place necessary measures to protect the lives and property of our people.

“I call on the new chairmen to ensure that any measures taken are fully implemented and sustained in order to ensure the security and wellbeing of the lives and property of the people.”

In response to the governor's charge, the chairmen expressed their desire to adhere to the instruction, one such chairman was the Billiri LGA Chairman, Margaret Bitrus, who said, “I look forward to embarking on developmental projects with key focus on women of the local government and the state.”
