Nigeria Is The Reason For Biafra, Says IPOB’s Special Coun

Aloy Ejimakor, the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB’s) Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor has asserted that the abysmal condition of Nigeria is why some people are agitating for a sovereign nation.

There are people who strongly believe that restructuring is Nigeria’s only hope of achieving lasting peace, sustainable growth and development.

But for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB, he has repeatedly said he does not believe in the restructuring of Nigeria being called by eminent Nigerians, saying that Nigerian Government would not keep any agreement reached in the restructuring exercise.

According to him, it is a referendum or nothing.

Ejimakor echoes his client's thoughts.

"NIGERIA is the reason for BIAFRA. There’s no better argument for #Biafra than the dysfunctions of #Nigeria, made worse by the regressive mentality of the people that control it from the very top," the legal practitioner wrote on his known Twitter handle on Thursday.

"If you #restructure Nigeria & don’t restructure that MENTALITY, you failed."

Asides Biafra agitation and calls for restructuring, the battle of the zones to produce President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor is on the front burner.

Although it is not certain, in the event that the two major parties (the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC) resolve to zone the presidency to the south, there will emerge a fresh controversy over micro-zoning, which in all estimations may not be a challenge in the north if it is zoned to that region.

The southeast, southwest and south-south zones make up the southern region.

Many Igbo politicians believe power should come to the South-East.
