1. #FathersDay2021: Clerics Charge Fathers To Nurture Healthy Homes For Safer Society

An Anglican Cleric, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, has charged fathers to take seriously the responsibility of building healthy homes to enhance a safer society.

2. Expect The Completion Of Second Niger Bridge Next Year - Fashola

The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has reaffirmed that the construction of the Second Niger Bridge would be completed next year.

3. Biafra: South East Big-wigs Makes Position Known On Activities Of IPOB, MASSOB, Others, Separatist Agitation

The leaders of South-East Nigeria, comprising the political, religious and traditional rulers rose from a meeting in Enugu on Saturday where they disowned the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and all pro-Biafra campaigners.

4. NYIF: Ministry of Youth Provides Update on Loan Disbursement

The Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), operated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, has disbursed loans to 5,200 youth, amounting to one billion, six hundred and twenty-nine million two hundred and twenty thousand naira (N1,629,220,000.00).

The information is contained in the latest update provided to the Ministry by the NIRSAL Micro Finance Bank (NMFB), which disburses the loan. The update also showed that it was prepared to disburse to another batch of 25,000 youth as soon as their loan applications are approved. Read more here.

5. NDLEA Arrests Officer, 6 Others For Dealing In Cocaine

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested serving officers of a law enforcement agency for selling assorted illicit drugs to students of a federal university and cultists in Ogun state.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted 25 Computer-Based Exam Centres (CBT) across the country for poor performance at the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) held nationwide on Saturday, June 19.

A statement issued on Sunday, in Abuja, by Dr Fabian Benjamin, spokesperson for JAMB, said the delisted centres failed during the conduct of the 2021 UTME held for one million applicants. Read more here.

8. COVID-19: UAE Eases Travel Restrictions For Passengers From Nigeria, S/Africa, India

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities in Dubai has announced a revision in procedures for travellers coming from the Republic of India, South Africa and Nigeria on June 19.

9. Senate Says Lekki Free Trade Zone, Eko Atlantic Are National Asset

The Senate Committee on Trade, Industry, and Investment has described Dangote, Lekki, Alaro City, and the Lagos free zone, which makes up the Lekki mega free zone quadrant and the Eko Atlantic free zone, as multi-billion-dollar national assets.

10. 14 Die As Bandits Attack Benue Police Station

The Benue State Police Command has said 14 bandits were killed following an attempted attack on a police station on Sunday morning.

The spokesperson for the Command, Catherine Anene, disclosed in a statement that the gunmen numbering about 50 launched an attack in the early hour of Sunday on a police station in Katsina-Ala town of the state, in a bid to free some suspected bandits who were arrested by the police on Saturday and detained in the station.
