1. Wole Soyinka Lecture Series: 'It's Possible Nnamdi Kanu Was Drugged Before Repatriation' — Femi Falana

Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana SAN says it is "likely" Kenya law enforcement agents "drugged" Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), before he was repatriated to Nigeria.

Falana who stated this at the 13th Wole Soyinka Centre Media Lecture Series on Tuesday, an event to commemorate the scholar's 87th birthday, said that the treatment meted out by the Muhammadu Buhari administration to pro-Biafra political activist, Nnamdi Kanu is similar to the foiled Nigerian kidnap plot in 1984 of Umaru Dikko, a former federal minister. 2. Navy Recruitment 2021: Force Reacts To Reports Of Sectional Supplementary List

The Nigeria Navy (NN) has described as ”fake” a purported sectional list of supplementary candidates in its recruitment trending online and amplified by an online newspaper of questionable integrity.

AllNews sighted the said report on Sahara Reporters. The online news outlet claimed that all 44 candidates on Nigerian Navy supplementary list are northerners. Read more here.

3. N-Power: 7 Months After Launch Of NEXIT By Buhari Administration, No CBN Intervention Has Materialized

Seven months after the launch of the N-Power NEXIT by Nigerian authorities, AllNews can authoritatively report that there is no single ex-beneficiary that has been placed into the any Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) intervention option — as promised.

NEXIT is a portal designed for the CBN empowerment programme for exited N-Power beneficiaries (batches A and B). It was launched in November 2020, but has not been effected despite hundreds of the erstwhile beneficiaries successfully completing registration. Chelsea F.C. Women have agreed on a record fee between Women's Super League (WSL) clubs to sign Lauren James from Manchester United.

5. Nnamdi Kanu’s Family Seeks Clarification On IPOB Leader’s Extradition

The family of the leader of the outlawed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on Tuesday insisted on explanations on how their blood was allegedly “abducted and bundled” back to Nigeria.

This demand manifested as traditional rulers under the aegis of Monarchs of Biafran Land came to Umuahia, Abia State on solidarity visit and advised the Federal Government to employ dialogue in Kanu’s matter. Read more here.

A supposed tweet by Manchester United and England star, Marcus Rashford laid claim to the 23-year-old insulting racists. The screenshot reads: ‘You are stupid if you allow a Monkey to represent you but more stupid if you blame it on the Monkey. I thank all my Teammates for the support.’

All the screengrabs shared depicted that the purported tweet had been retweeted over 135, 000 times. It also portrayed a quote retweet of over 345, 000 and 876, 000+ likes 'on Rashford's verified Twitter handle' on Monday July 12. 8. Nnamdi Kanu: Why Pro-Biafra Group Leader May Remain In Custody Till September

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) may remain in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) until September as judges of the Federal High Court begin their annual vacation on July 26, the date slated for the hearing of his case.

Kanu's IPOB is agitating for the sovereignty of Eastern Nigeria. Facing treason charges, he had fled, and stayed away from Nigeria for about four years before being captured in Kenya and repatriated. Read more here.

9. Paternity Scandal: FCMB Announces End of Adam Nuru's Service as Managing Director

The Board of Directors of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Ltd has announced the discontinuation of Mr. Adam Nuru's service as Managing Director of the lending institution.
