Nigeria Rank Fifth As Canada Issues 4, 200 Permanent Visas

Canadian Government has offered permanent residence to 4,200 Express Entry Candidates. The selection of new immigrant residence comes amidst border relaxation across the world following the COVID-19 outbreak.

The successful applicants were issued the permanent residency after hitting the comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score of 472. The applicants were scored based on their professional level and years of practice.

The Canadian Government selected the applicants on September 16, 2020, during its 163rd Express Entry draw. The last draw done was on September 2, 2020, in an Express Entry round - the same number of applicants were also issued permanent residency, making the success rate 86.4%.

The Express Entry round in September was the second-biggest draw ever. The highest entry of applicants is the 4,500 ITAs of February 19, 2020.

This year, the Canadian Government have issued Permanent Residency to 74,150 persons.

Meanwhile, in the month of July this year, Nigerians were the fifth highest intakes or applicants that migrated into Canada. India, China, Philippines, and Pakistan were the countries ahead of Nigeria.
