Nigeria Record 8 Deaths In 24-hours As COVID-19 Cases Surpas

Within 24 hours, Nigeria recorded eight deaths, taking the number of deaths caused by COVID-19 within the country to 533. During the same period, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) also reported that Nigeria recorded 452 new confirmed cases of coronavirus.

The 452 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in 14 states with Lagos accounting for 209, Oyo-67, Delta-37, Ogun-36, FCT-22, Abia-20, Enugu-16, Bauchi-15, Kaduna-8, Ondo-8, Osun-7, Imo-3, Benue-3, Borno-1.

This takes the number of confirmed cases to 21,371 after a total of 117,569 tests were conducted. Also, 7,338 persons have been discharged in from Nigeria's isolation centers since the coronavirus outbreak was first recorded in late February 2020, leading to a nationwide lockdown for about two months. The lockdown has since been eased since May 4.
