Nigerian singer, Omah Lay has confirmed that he was arrested by the Ugandan police for violating the COVID-19 rules of the country over the weekend.
Omah lay in a post via his Twitter account over the weekend said everything will be alright and efforts are being made to ensure his release.
“Yes, I’m with the Ugandan police. Something about the show from last night.
“Everything would be fine. Oluwa na him comfort me,” he said.

AllNews had reported that Ugandan police arrest Omah Lay for flouting COVID-19 protocols while performing over the weekend at a concert held at Speke Resort.

The deputy police spokesman, Kampala Metropolitan had earlier reported that the singer was picked by Katwe police, together with the venue manager Ivan Dungu and events manager Prim Kasana.
