Comptroller General of Immigration Service, Idris Isa Jere
Reports on Saturday revealed that the Nigerian Immigration Service would soon commence e-border patrols, as the Federal Government has approved the redeployment of CCTV Cameras, Drones and other electoral gadgets for the surveillance of the country boarders.
The Controller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Idris Isa Jere disclosed this when he handed over a donation of four million naira to the family of a slain officer, Muhammad Abdullahi.
Muhammad Abdullahi was gunned down by in a gun battle by suspected bandits along Maigatari Galadi road, in close proximity to Niger boarder.
Jere said the slain officer died protecting the territorial integrity of his country, adding that his sacrifice would not be in vain.
He also revealed that the two injured officers alongside late Muhammad Abdullahi, Abba Musa Kiyawa (DSI) and Zubairu Garba (AII) are responding to treatment.
According to Daily Independent, the CG appealed to state government to assist efforts by the Federal Government to secure the Nigerian borders.
