Nigerian Actresses Who Gave Birth Before Age 20

No doubt we have so many beautiful actresses in the Nollywood industry but many fans are not aware that they gave birth at a young age.

While the norm and the average age for most women in Nigeria to get married and have kids is around 25, some celebrities broke this norm and had kids while they were teenagers.

Although they all admitted that it came with tough challenges, they are reaping the fruits of their labour at the moment.

Below are some Nigerian celebrities who became mothers before they turned 20.

1. Clarion Chukwura

Clarion Chukwura was impregnated by Sir Shina Peters many years ago when she was still in university.

She got pregnant at the age of 18 and had her baby boy who has grown to be a household name in the entertainment industry, in the person of Clarence Peters, the multi-award-winning musical video director.

At the age of 54, Clarion Chukwura got married for the third time to America-based businessman Anthony in April 2016, but sadly the union did not last.

2. Genevieve Nnaji

The actress became a mum at the age of 17 and has carefully shielded her daughter from the prying eyes of the public.

She has a daughter named Chimebuka as the Nollywood veteran got pregnant when she was still in secondary school as a teenager.

She kept the baby under the care of her mum and started hustling as an actress in the Nigerian movie industry.

Today she is happy and proud that her daughter is now an international model and also married to her heartthrob. 

3. Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde

Nollywood diva Omotola Jalade Ekeinde met her pilot husband at the age of 16.

She later got married to him when she was 18 and had her first daughter Princess Ekeinde the following year, with three other kids arriving later on.

4. Ireti Doyle

Ireti Doyle had her first child when she was 17 years old before her marriage to Patrick Doyle. Her daughter has now grown into a beautiful woman.

According to her, she had some problems with her mother not understanding her and vice versa. Now she is the mother of a 29-year-old lady and four other children.

Adding to that, Ireti Doyle is also a grandmother, as her daughter had since married and had a beautiful baby girl.

5. Lizzy Anjorin
