Nigerian Army raid kidnappers den in Jalingo, captures suspe

Toops of the Nigeria Army in Taraba State have raided kidnappers den, leading to the capture of two suspects in Jalingo, the State capital. 

The suspects were identified as 32-year-old Awwal Bobo, and 33-year-old Sallau Abdul.

The operation was led by the troops of the 6 Brigade Garrison who were on Anti kidnapping patrol around the CBN-Babaya-u in Jalingo Local Government Area of the state.

Following the operation which took place in the early hours of Sunday, the troops rescued two victims from the location.

The victims identified as (Mrs) Fauziyya Yusuf and (Mr) Abdulsallam Abubakar were receiving medical care to ensure their physical and emotional wellbeing. 

According to the army the successful operation was led by the receipt of credible information of the activities of the kidnappers.

In a statement issued late Sunday in Jalingo by the Army, the Commander of the 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Frank Etim commended the troops for the timely operation. 

He equally charged them to maintain the tempo and called on residents to support security agencies with credible and timely information on security issues in the state.

The statement partly reads: "The swift response of the troops and conduct of raid operation on the terrorist’s hideout led to the capture of Mr Awwal Bobo,32 and Mr Sallau Abdul,33 as well as extrication and safe rescue of the victims named Mrs Fauziyya Yusuf and Mr Abdulsallam Abubakar.

"In the process, two of the Kidnappers were arrested, while others absconded upon sighting the troops. 

"Troops are on their trail and will soon be arrested.

"One of the rescued Victims have since been reunited with his family while the other is currently been offered necessary medical attention and support to ensure her physical and emotional well-being before been handed over to her family."
