Nigerian Amusan Ranked Best Female Athlete In Africa, Fifth

World Champion Tobi Amusan has been named the best female Athlete in Africa but ranked fifth on the planet, according to World Athletics.

Amusan 24, grabbed the limelight after her stunning performance at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States of America, where she became a World Champion.

The Nigerian-born athlete claimed the gold medal while setting a new record of 12.22s.

Amusan, who originated from Ogun State could not claim the best female athlete in the World with Caribbean athlete Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce from Jamaica in first, her compatriot Shericka Jackson in second and Venezuela Yulimar Rojas in third, American Sydney McLaughlin in fourth.

Amusan also claimed the Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham City.
