Nigerian Beauty Queen To Promote Girl-Child Education

2022 Most Gorgeous Girl Nigeria (MGGN) winner, Ruqayyah Adeboye has said she would focus on creating awareness of girl-child education across Nigeria. 

The 23-year-old newly crowned queen, speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said she would focus on promoting girl-child education during her reign as queen.

The Law graduate who was crowned in Abuja reiterated the importance of education in h development of the country.

“As a Muslim, I have a lot of jobs before me. I have to go all out and preach the importance of education.

“Girl education means that you don’t have to offer someone your body before getting anything in return.

“Education will also help young girls communicate better, so educating them is the best gift we can offer them,” she said.

Kwara-born Adeboye added that it was necessary for institutions across the nation to be strengthened to ensure she meets her Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

She urged women to take pride in their femininity, noting that it means strength and perseverance irrespective of the stumbling blocks.

The queen received a brand new Mazda Cx – 9 SUV from Paul Edeh, President, MGGN, after her victory on Saturday. 

The President said the pageantry was organised to celebrate hardworking women in the country and celebrate Nigeria's rich culture.

He noted that the queen's first assignment will be to team up with the FCT Education Board to organise the FCT Inter School Festival in September 2022.

The event had in attendance the managing director MGGN and Queen’s mother Grace Ene, past winners, philanthropists, and family members, NAN reports.
