Here is a short biography of five Nigerian celebrities born this month - October. We’ve picked Regina Daniels, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Small Doctor, Tope Alabi, and Falz The Bahd Guy.

Regina Daniels – October 10, 2000

Regina Daniels is a Nollywood actress and producer, who was born on October 10, 2000. The young actress is from a major oil-producing state in Nigeria, Delta state.

Regina started starring in movies at the age of seven. It is believed that her mother, who is an actress and a prominent member of the Delta State Actors Guild, played a major role in grooming her for the stage.

In 2015, Regina Daniels made her professional debut appearance in a movie titled ‘Marriage in Sorrow’. Since then she has featured in several Nollywood movies and has worked alongside top Nollywood stars like Genevieve, Chika Ike, and Ini Edo.

In January 2019, she was appointed Atiku Abubakar’s Youth Campaign Coordinator. She also launched a magazine named after her at an Abuja hotel in February 2020.

Regina Daniels is one of the top influential and richest Nollywood teenage actress with a net worth of $1.5 million.

The screen diva is married to a billionaire lawyer, Prince Ned Nwoko. Her marriage to the 59-year-old billionaire in 2019 was widely criticized on social media, as some think she’s too young to be married to an older man. The couple welcomed their son, Munir Neji Ned-Nwoko, on June 29, 2020

 

Dakore Egbuson-Akande – October 14, 1978

Dakore Egbuson-Akande (born Dakore Omobola Egbuson) is a successful Nollywood actress, television personality, and model. She is also the ambassador for Amnesty International, Amstel Malta, and Oxfam of America.

She was born on October 14, 1978, in Bayelsa state. She had her basic education at Corona School, Lagos, and then proceeded to Federal Girls College, Bauchi for her secondary education. Upon completion, she was admitted to the University of Lagos where she studied Mass Communication but eventually dropped out owing to incessant ASUU strikes.

She joined Nollywood in 1999, playing minor roles in movies until her big break came when she featured in ‘Final Game’.

She has also acted alongside Ramsey Nouah, Kenneth Okonkwo, Desmond Elliot, Ken Eriks, Jim Iyke, and other top Nollywood stars.

 

Small Doctor – October 19, 1996

Temitope Adekunle, widely known by his stage name ‘Small Doctor’ is a Nigerian indigenous fuji pop singer, model, stage performer, songwriter, and recording artiste. His hit single ‘Penalty’ shot him into the limelight.

He was born on October 19, 1996, in Ilaje, a small town in Ondo State. He had his elementary education in Aina Orosan Nursery and Primary School in Dopemu, Ondo State, and his secondary education at Oniwaya Secondary School, Ondo. After his secondary education, he got admitted into the University of Lagos but dropped out to pursue a career in music.

In 2012, Small Doctor released his singles, Penalty and Mosquito Killer, which immediately became a street sensation. He went on to release other singles like Gbagaun, Anobi.

On July 24, 2015, he released his debut studio album ‘Street Ambassador’.

Small Doctor stated during an interview that his stage name was given to him by his mentor, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, a fuji Icon.

 

Tope Alabi – October 27, 1970

Patricia Temitope Alabi, simply known as Tope Alabi is a Nigerian gospel singer, film music composer, and actress.

She was born on October 27, 1970, to Pa Joseph Akinyele and Madam Agnes Kehinde, as the only daughter of three children. She is from Yewa, Imeko part of Ogun state.

She had her secondary education at Oba Akinyele Memorial High School and proceeded to The Polytechnic, Ibadan where she studied Mass Communication and graduated in 1990.

Her initial dream to be a star actress made her join the then ‘Jesters International’ (Jacob, Papilolo & Aderupoko) at Ibadan during her secondary school days. She got her training and experience in drama from the group.

Upon completion of her University education, Tope worked as a correspondent of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Ibadan under the supervision of Yanju Adegbite briefly. In 1990, she worked with Centre-Spread Advertising Limited, Ilupeju area of Lagos.

Tope Alabi’s career officially kick-started in 1994 when she came into the Theatre Art profession and joined the prestigious ‘Alade Aromire Theatre Group’. She was taught all the core areas of drama and acting as a profession at the theatre group. She distinguished herself as a gifted actress and singer and gained prominence in the contemporary gospel industry in Nigeria.

She came into limelight when she released her debut album ‘Oore Ti O Common’ in 2000. This album brought her fame and also earned her the moniker ‘Oore Ti O Common’ and ‘Agbo Jesu’.

 

Falz – October 27, 1990

Falz was born Folarin Falana to a prominent legal practitioner and human right activists, Femi Falana. His mother, Funmi Falana, is also a lawyer and women rights activist.

‘Falz’ or ‘Falz the Bahd Guy’, as he is popularly called, is a Nigerian rapper, songwriter, comedian, and actor with a very funny accent.

He was born on October 27, 1990, in Mushin, Lagos State. He had his primary education at St. Leo’s Catholic Primary School, Ikeja. Afterward, he enrolled in Olashore International School, Osun for his secondary education. Falz graduated from Nigeria Law School, Abuja, and was called to bar in 2012. He is also an alumnus of the University of Reading, England, having graduated with an LLB honours degree in Law.

Falz music career began while he was in secondary school after forming a music group ‘The School Boys’ with his friends. In 2009, he dropped a mixtape titled  ‘Shakara: The Mixtape’. He also released ‘Waz Up Guy’, ‘High Class’, and ‘Currency’ in 2011. However, the release of his song ‘Marry Me’ featuring Poe and Yemi Alade, marked the beginning of his successful music career.
