The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has named a Nigerian footballer, Uchenna Kanu, as the US Women's Player of the Year.
Goal.com reports that she was conferred the award after a record-breaking year in the US.

Uchenna, a striker, tops the leaderboard with 157 goals and 366 points in her career.
The award was presented by The NAIA-Women's Soccer Coaches Association officers on Wednesday.
Uchenna plays for the American College, Southeastern Fire as a striker.
